Goals of Shining stars
Our overall goal at Shining Stars Learning Center is to provide early learning experiences that assist parents in nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and social development of their young children. We believe this goal can be reached when children learn by doing by hands-on, active experiences that are developmentally appropriate for young children. We further believe children develop best when all experiences occur in an atmosphere of Christian love, care, trust and respect. Click here for our 2017 handbook.
Specifically, these goals are accomplished:
Activities that exercise children’s bodies. Experiences and stories that encourage children to explore God’s world, to solve problems and to express feelings. A social environment that encourages children to play and talk with each other and with adults. Teachers who recognize the individuality of each child’s abilities and needs.
Additionally, we use a Bible-based curriculum called “Christ Light” as the foundation of our educational programs. Timeless truths are presented in a straightforward, developmentally-appropriate way to nurture student’s souls through stories, pictures, songs, finger plays, action activities and hands-on manipulatives. Your child will be given a take-home copy of all the stories presented throughout the year so the concepts can be reinforced at home.
